Dr. Sathyaki P. Nambala is the Chief of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at Apollo Hospitals, Bangalore. He completed his MBBS from the University of Mysore in 1995, followed by an MS in General Surgery from St. John's Medical College, Bangalore, and an MCh in Cardiothoracic Surgery from the Sri Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Kerala. He further honed his skills through fellowships at the Toronto General Hospital, Canada, and Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, USA. Dr. Nambala is a pioneer in minimally invasive and robotic cardiac surgeries in India, having performed over 8,000 open-heart procedures, 3,000 minimally invasive surgeries, and 250 robotic surgeries. He initiated the Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery (MICS) program at Apollo Hospitals in 2009, which has become a benchmark in the field.
